Young Thug’s label, YSL Records, is a subsidiary of 300 Entertainment. Thug announced the creation of YSL records via his Snapchat story touring his new office on November 15th, 2016.
The story includes a toast by 300 Ent. co-founder Kevin Liles, who states how Thug is “Always standing 300 with us. Him starting a new venture is going to take us to a different mindset…He’s not just an artist in this particular case.” Check out the footage below.
What does YSL stand for?
YSL stands for Young Stoner Life or Young Slime Life, and the label’s members use both interchangeably. The label YSL Records is often confused with the French luxury fashion brand, Yves Saint Laurent.
YSL’s Current Artist Roster
In 2017, YSL Records announced that they would be signing Atlanta rapper Gunna to the label. Since signing to YSL, Gunna has released Drip Season (2016), Drip Season 2 (2017), Drip Season 3 (2018), and Drip Harder (2018).
YSL Duke (formerly known as Duke or YSL Duke), was the first artist signed by Young Thug in 2016. Duke has been a long time collaborator of Thug’s and has been touring with Young Thug prior to YSL’s founding.
NBA YoungBoy (YoungBoy Never Broke Again)
In late 2017, YoungBoy Never Broke Again (NBA YoungBoy) signed to YSL records via a 5-album joint venture deal with Atlantic Records. His debut album, Until Death Call My Name, was released under YSL. NBA YoungBoy actually bought a custom chain that resembles Young Thug in a 3D image.
Keed’s 2018 album Keed Talk To ‘Em has been gaining mainstream attention with hits like ‘Nameless’, ‘Balenciaga (feat. 21 Savage)’, and ‘Red Hot (feat. Trippie Redd)’. Prior to Keed Talk To ‘Em, he released Trapped On Cleveland 2 under YSL. Read Lil Keed’s full bio here.

Although T-Shyne is primarily signed to Empire, many consider him a YSL member. T-Shyne provided a guest feature on Young Thug’s ‘Real In My Veins’ from the 2018 EP On The Rvn.
Many popular rappers have been spotted rocking the infamous YSL chain. Young Thug gave YSL chains to a lot of artists who are not signed to the label, including Drake, Lil Uzi, Lil Gotit, and Lil Baby. Turbo and Wheezy, two of YSL’s main producers, received YSL chains as well.
In August of 2018, Young Thug and YSL Records released Slime Language as a compilation album by Young Thug and YSL Records. The album includes features from YSL signees Gunna, Lil Duke, Strick, Lil Keed, Dolly, and HiDooraah. Wheezy and London on da Track were executive producers.
